The Galaxy A18 does not list 5G connectivity, making it an LTE-focused smartphone.

Design and Build

The Galaxy A18 measures 164.4 × 77.9 × 7.7 mm and weighs 196 grams.

Its construction consists of a Gorilla Glass 3 front panel, a plastic rear panel, and a plastic frame. The design prioritizes practicality and everyday usability while maintaining a relatively slim profile for a phone with a 6.7-inch display.

The device has an IP64 rating, providing complete protection against dust and resistance to water splashes. It is not designed for underwater immersion.

Available colors include:

• Black

• Gray

• Light Blue

The phone features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for convenient biometric authentication.

Display

The Galaxy A18 features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate.

The screen has a resolution of 1080 × 2340 pixels, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and an approximate pixel density of 385 pixels per inch (ppi).

Super AMOLED technology delivers deep blacks, high contrast, and vivid colors, making the display suitable for watching videos, browsing websites, reading, and using social media.

The 90Hz refresh rate provides smoother scrolling and interface animations than a traditional 60Hz display.

The front panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which provides a degree of resistance against everyday scratches and accidental contact.

With an approximately 86% screen-to-body ratio, the Galaxy A18 offers a spacious viewing area for its price category.

Software and Platform

The Galaxy A18 runs Android 17 with Samsung One UI 9.

Samsung lists support for up to six major Android OS updates, providing an extended software-support period for a budget smartphone.

The software experience includes Samsung's familiar interface, system customization options, notification management, privacy controls, and access to Android applications through supported app stores.

Actual feature availability may vary according to the installed software version and regional configuration.

Processor and Performance

The phone is powered by the Samsung Exynos 1610 chipset.

Its octa-core CPU is listed with the following configuration:

• 2 × Cortex-A7X cores at up to 2.4 GHz

• 6 × Cortex-A55 cores at up to 2.0 GHz

Graphics processing is handled by the Mali-G68 GPU.

This hardware is intended for everyday tasks such as messaging, web browsing, video streaming, online shopping, navigation, and running common mobile applications.

Performance in demanding games and resource-intensive applications will depend on the software, graphics settings, and available memory.

Memory and Storage

The Galaxy A18 is offered with 4GB of RAM and three internal storage options:

• 64GB storage + 4GB RAM

• 128GB storage + 4GB RAM

• 256GB storage + 4GB RAM

The phone supports microSDXC expansion, allowing users to add storage for photographs, videos, music, documents, and other files.

The microSD card uses the shared SIM slot, so installing a memory card may limit the available physical SIM configuration.

Expandable storage is particularly useful for users who need additional space without purchasing a higher-capacity model.

Triple Rear-Camera System

The Samsung Galaxy A18 features a triple-camera system consisting of a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera.

50MP Main Camera

The primary camera features a 50MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 26mm equivalent focal length.

The sensor measures approximately 1/2.76 inch and uses 0.64µm pixels. It also supports phase-detection autofocus (PDAF) for focusing on subjects.

The main camera is intended for everyday photography, including portraits, landscapes, indoor scenes, and general-purpose pictures.

5MP Ultrawide Camera

The secondary camera is a 5MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 17mm equivalent focal length.

Its wider field of view makes it suitable for landscapes, architecture, group photographs, and other scenes where fitting more into the frame is important.

The ultrawide camera provides an alternative perspective to the main camera, although its lower resolution is better suited to casual photography than detailed cropping.

2MP Macro Camera

The third rear camera is a 2MP macro camera, designed for close-up photographs of small objects and surface details.

It offers a dedicated macro shooting option for subjects that are difficult to capture using the main camera at close range.

Camera Features

The rear camera system includes:

• LED flash

• HDR

• Panorama

These features support basic photography in different lighting conditions and shooting situations.

Video Recording

The rear camera supports video recording at 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second.

This resolution is suitable for everyday videos, family recordings, social media clips, and general mobile content creation.

The specifications provided do not list 4K video recording or advanced high-frame-rate recording modes for the rear camera.

Front Camera

The Galaxy A18 features a 13MP front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a 27mm equivalent focal length.

The front sensor measures approximately 1/3.1 inch and uses 1.12µm pixels.

It is designed for selfies, video calls, online meetings, and social media photography.

The selfie camera supports video recording at 1080p resolution at 30fps, providing Full HD video for everyday communication and content creation.

Audio

The Galaxy A18 includes a built-in loudspeaker for calls, music, videos, notifications, and other audio playback.

There is no 3.5mm headphone jack listed in the supplied specifications. Users should therefore check compatibility when choosing wired headphones or use supported wireless audio accessories.

Bluetooth 5.3 allows the phone to connect to compatible wireless headphones, earbuds, speakers, and other audio devices.

Sensors and Security

The Galaxy A18 includes the following sensors and features:

• Side-mounted fingerprint sensor

• Accelerometer

• Gyroscope

• Compass

• Virtual proximity sensing

The fingerprint sensor provides biometric unlocking and can support authentication in compatible applications.

Virtual proximity sensing helps the phone manage screen behavior during supported activities, such as phone calls. Unlike a dedicated physical proximity sensor, its operation relies on software and available device inputs.

Battery and Charging

The Samsung Galaxy A18 is equipped with a 5000mAh battery.

The battery capacity is designed to provide power for everyday activities such as calls, messaging, web browsing, video playback, and social media use. Actual battery life depends on screen brightness, network conditions, application usage, and other settings.

The phone supports 25W wired charging, with a listed charging estimate of approximately 50% in 30 minutes under supported conditions.
